Servowatch can integrate alarm, monitoring, data acquisition, data
reduction, and data control into one system, it can also integrate
the third part products into system, so Servowatch is absolutely
the cost effective and the most compatible choice for users.
Servowatch ship system was awarded Lloyd innovation Awards in 2007. SIMS (Ship’s Integrated Management System) was developed by Servowatch Systems Ltd in collaboration with the Royal Nation Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) as an integrated bridge system for Search and Rescue Vessels, EEZ Patrol, Coastguard and Border Security monitoring. SIMS integrates all Navigation, Monitoring and Communications systems on the vessel into one simple to use application which is available from any of the vessel workstations, The HMI (Human-Machine Interface) uses type approved 19” LCD Monitor and a specially designed trackball which is attached to the arm of the seat. The whole system are of easy learning, ease of use, reliability and display clearly. For years, Servowatch has always been the leader of ship monitoring and control system worldwide. It can meet customers’ needs not only with the simply independent monitoring system but also with the integrated automation function. SIMS system is the input and output based on a dual redundant
network, which can assist to finish the management and data
logging. The SIMS software shell runs under Embedded Windows XP, it
is controlled by computer unit, however, this unit is independent
from system, which will not impact the operation of system. SIMS
dual-redundant system uses networking of Arcnet, which can be fully
integrated into system. So when one of the networks is defective,
the other one can carry out the data transmission smoothly, so as
to ensure the work of whole system. The Arcnet has some basic functions: it can pick up machinery
information by the sensors, then these information is transmitted
to computer through dual-redundant network; according to some
necessary conversions and analysis, the output is in some requested
form of the (such as graph ), the operator then can get information
via touch screen and operate the system, finally, the data will be
converted by computer through the dual-redundant network to the
equipment and the equipment will make related response. SIMS uses multi-functional DACU, it can accept any kind of
configuration of sensors, digital or analog data. Built up with
some rigid elements, SIMS can ensure the system run normally event
in the toughest conditions. The functions of SIMS is as follows: Electronic Chart System Navigation system Data logging Radar system operation panel communication system CCTV system Alarm and operation system Steering system Hydraulic system Mailbox control Bilge control Fire protection system Management of anchor windlass Hatch control Other equipments depends on the user An example of the SIMS shell A TYPICAL SIMS SYSTEM SIMS Communications System All information here represent the status at the time of going to press.
